In April 2006, Jason founded this law firm in New York City. His practice is concentrated primarily in corporate and operational matters for contractors and businesses of varying trades and industries, respectively. A sample of these matters includes but is not limited to the following:
Jason devotes a significant amount of time assisting his individual clients in probate administration and a variety of litigation matters ranging from intentional torts (i.e., fraud, defamation and conversion) to negligence-based personal injury and wrongful death claims. Mr. May has also provided guidance to clients with respect to their estate planning needs.
Jason was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from North Central High School in 1992. He attended and graduated from Indiana University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. While at Indiana University he played varsity football under Coach Bill Mallory, where he was a letter winner as well as an Alpha Beta honorary. In 1998, Jason began his legal career attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While at Cooley, Jason took part in many school activities including the school’s moot court competition team, writing for the school newspaper and participating in the law school’s clinical internship program.
In January 2002 Jason began working at FINRA, then known as the NASD. There he organized and conducted major investigations and enforcement actions against investment firms for various sales practice and regulatory violations. Among them was the highly publicized enforcement action against the top 12 investment firms for their conflict of interest violations between their research and investment banking departments. This action resulted in the “Global Settlement” with these investment firms paying 1.4 billion dollars in fines. During his time at the NASD, Jason received the Above and Beyond Award and the President’s Award from Mary Shapiro.
In April 2006, Jason resigned from FINRA to form this law firm in New York City. Two years later he returned to Indianapolis, his hometown, to start a family and open this office. Jason is married with two children and enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing sports, and engaging in spirited political debate. He also is an avid fan and supporter of Indiana University, the New York Yankees, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Indiana Pacers.
As a volunteer, Jason serves on the board of directors for the Brightwood Community Center and the Oasis Community Development Corporation, whose primary function and outreach is the assistance to and development of the residents and economy, respectively, in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood in the under-served Indianapolis zip code of 46218.
